![]() ![]() I've always wound up taking my guitars to my tech to be intonated with a strobe. All I know is that I've never really even gotten close to being able to set intonation with my TU-2's, TU-12's, or even the Korgs. Regarding real versus virtual strobes - well I honestly can't say. I don't recall a single comment from someone who regretted making the move. I've read, what, 150-175 reviews & posts on the internet regarding the Peterson, many of which are from seasoned pros, and many of which are from former BOSS TU-2 users that dumped the TU-2 like a hot potato after acquiring the Strobo. In any event - what with superior accuracy, various tuning offsets, & the ability to build custom tuning presets, I'd like to think that it might afford me the luxury of being a bit less intonation-bonkers than I am now. While I don't expect the Peterson, or anything else, to be the well tempered panacea for all the tuning woes of an imperfect instrument - the fact of the matter is that the tuning accuracy of the Peterson is vastly superior to that of the BOSS, which in turn is not as quick & accurate as the Korg tuners. ![]() Intonation has driven me nuts for years, but I have too many instruments to practically consider installing Earvana or Buzz Feiten systems on them all. I've gotten fairly quick at making the moves in live settings. ![]() For playing slide in standard tuning, I slightly detune the B string such that the major 3rd in the triad on the D, G, & B strings actually sounds *in tune*. I get close with a tuner but will often tweak by ear to a particular voicing that's integral to a song. ![]()
